When Better Homes and Gardensâ designed the plans for this sewing machine and serger cabinet, they set out to create a compact, yet attractive, piece of furniture with lots of features and storage galore! The two front doors open to reveal lots of drawers, a sewing machine mounted on a mechanical lift and a compartment to store a serger. The two hinged cabinet tops flip out, effectively doubling the countertop work surface.
Features: Make mostly from Cherry and Birch plywood and assorted sized Cherry boards. Mechanical lift to raise your sewing machine to two working positions, or lower it for easy out-of-sight storage. The left side will have a flip-up table and storage compartment for a serger.
Size: 27in. tall by 48in. long by 18in. deep (closed). When opened, the main table top flips out (to the left), adding 45in. to the overall length. The table top for the serger, flips out (towards the front), adding 19in. to the depth (on the right side).
Plans Include: Detailed step-by-step instructions, exploded 3D diagrams, very detailed drawings for creating the sewing machine opening and insert (to fit any machine), complete bill of materials list and cutting diagrams. Includes suppliers list for sewing machine mechanical lift and other hard to find hardware.
